§ Leigh Creek Master Plan and Design Concept: Council received Grant Funding towards the development of a master plan and design concept. The proposal aims to improve the economic wellbeing of the town by attracting traffic from the Leigh Creek – Port Augusta Marree Road into Leigh Creek. The Master plan will incorporate an overall landscape concept comprising of a lighting strategy, street furniture, tree species, pavement types, signage guidelines and controlled public access. The proposal will increase revenue for the town by encouraging greater use of the town’s facilities. § Blinman & Parachilna Strategic Urban Design Framework: Grant funding has been provided to council to produce urban design frameworks for the townships of Blinman and Parachilna. The project will identify and protect important character elements and strategic views to both townships while considering options for new infrastructure and other development. The study will examine entrance treatments, vehicle parking and potential streetscape projects. The Frameworks will benefit the tourist economy of both towns with consideration to new community facilities, cultural and heritage characteristics and identifying options to ensure their protection.
